And So It Begins. CreateAThon 2006

It was a dark and stormy morning.... Okay it is dark outside and it is drizzling.... We are about to embark on our fifth annual CreateAThon, a 24 hour work session to create 14 projects for 6 non-profits in our area. That's right, we're going to pull an all-nighter and by tomorrow morning we will have created two websites, three brochures, a capital campaign, two logos and tag lines, a marketing campaign, two billboards and two PSA's.
It's a way for us to say thanks to the community and give the nonprofits some much needed and much appreciated marketing tools. We received 40 applications this year. The groups we chose are Keystone Greyhounds, a dog rescue group; Wilkes University Alternate Spring Break, a group of students who volunteer rather than party over spring break; Symphony Hall, a beautiful performing arts center in Allentown; Maureen's Mission, one man honoring the life of his wife by spreading the word about cancer; 6th Street Shelter, a home for homeless families in Allentown, and the New Orleans Chapter of Women In Construction. (Every agency involved in CreateAThon across the county today has adopted a nonprofit in New Orleans.)
