Keystone Greyhounds
We are huge animal lovers here at cds creative, inc. So when the opportunity arose for us to use our creativity to help animals who are in need, we jumped at it.
We met with the representatives of Keystone Greyhounds to get an idea of what they really needed. They were basically looking for a brochure they could use at meet and greets, hand out to people they meet or send out in the mail. They also wanted to have a poster designed with important information on it, but also something that would catch people’s eyes.
After editing the copy on their brochure, Doug decided to revamp the layout of the brochure. He used the fact that greyhounds’ bodies are so long and lean in order to create a distinct and unique marketing piece. The same idea was then applied to the informational poster to create a striking piece that would stand out from the rest. |

Maureen's Mission
Bill Thiel’s dedication for this cause and the promise he made is remarkable. His passion quickly became ours. When we first spoke with Bill, he had so much to say and so many ideas to share. When we sorted through everything, we came to realize that the heart of his mission is to prevent this tragedy from happening to any more women.
His website is the most effective means to reach the masses so that he can spread the word about the standard of care available to women. We decided to completely rebuild him a new website in order to help him educate women about their rights and encourage them to take charge.
The entire site was redesigned, copy was edited, color schemes were changed, photos were added and the end result was, something that almost brought Bill Thiel to tears, a professional, informational site that helps to educate, motivate and empower women to take charge of their health all while preserving Maureen’s memory and the promise that he made to her. |

Sixth Street Shelter
Maintaining and operating a shelter for homeless families is far more expensive than you would think. State grant money isn’t always enough and many times shelters rely on the generous donations of those in the surrounding community. This was the situation for the Sixth Street Shelter in Allentown. Although they received a sizeable State grant in order to remodel one of the apartment buildings, that money alone wouldn’t be enough to complete the project.
The Sixth Street Shelter was looking for a capital campaign, accompanying marketing materials as well as a marketing plan.
A lot of thought on our part went into this; we just weren’t sure where to go. Sixth Street really needed a lot of help, so we wanted to develop the most effective materials and suggestions for them that would create the best results.
During one brainstorming session, our intern at the time, Jamie, piped up with a wonderful idea for the slogan for Sixth Street’s capital campaign, “Help us today, Help them tomorrow.” And with that, everything then began to fall into place.
We developed a complete and thorough capital campaign plan for them to utilize. A brochure was also designed for them to hand or mail out during the campaign. A marketing plan was also produced for their use as a guide when fundraising in the future.

Symphony Hall
The hall was recently remodeled and it is beautiful; from the parking lot to the stage, amazing! They also have an additional space upstairs which is used for various events, such as weddings, birthday parties, meet and greets, networking mixers and it has a full kitchen.
Symphony Hall came to us desperate for a branding campaign. They really needed our help in making them stand out among the rest – they are a great place that offers fantastic programs, cool shows in an intimate atmosphere, a place to hang out with friends, an introduction to the arts and various types of music and a lot more – Our job was to help get the word out there!
We all sat down to brainstorm, throwing out any idea we could come up. We all agreed that Symphony Hall was one of the most beautiful theaters we had ever seen in this area. The acoustics, the intimate setting, everything blended together to make seeing a show at Symphony Hall quite an enjoyable experience.
The light bulb went off! That’s exactly what Symphony Hall was, An Experience! No matter whom you were or the type of program you attended, each time there offered a different experience. With this, we could focus on the Hall itself and not just on the shows that come in to perform.
We designed six different billboards for them; highlighting the different “experiences” Symphony Hall can offer the community. We also developed new radio spots expressing the wonderful experience one will have at Symphony Hall. The tagline we came up with, “Symphony Hall, Experience it!” solidifies the brand message and will help to make a unique statement in their market. |

Wilkes University Alternative
Spring Break
This project really allowed us to have some fun. Wilkes University Alternative Spring Break was looking for a new logo and a brochure to assist the participating students in their fundraising efforts. They were open to anything, so we let our creative juices flow.
We really wanted to express what a wonderful this idea these trips are. The students sacrifice the typical Spring Break vacation to travel to a different part of the world to help those in need. This year the students are headed to New Orleans to help families/businesses that were affected by Katrina. Students who are selected are notified by September and raise money in their hometown over Christmas vacation in order to finance their travel expenses.
Lauren, our Traffic Manager, decided to test out her graphic design skills. By putting a creative spin on the typical compass, she came up with the new Alternative Spring Break logo.
We then began brainstorming. We wanted to incorporate the spring break part of the trip as well as express how life-changing a trip like this can be. We chose, “A break for reality.” We then took that tagline, along with the logo and incorporated it into a new brochure and sponsorship request letter to be used for fundraising purposes. |

Women in Construction
This past year, each agency participating in CreateAThon, chose a well deserving non-profit organization from the New Orleans area. The usual struggles these New Orleans’ non-profits have intensified all the more due to the after effects of Hurricane Katrina.
The National Association of Women in Construction is an organization with over 179 chapters in almost every state. Chapter 339, the group cds was assisting, had been in existence for over fifteen years supporting the causes of women in construction, from trades’ women to business owners. When Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated their hometowns, they organized and immediately, went to work and haven’t stopped since. From tearing down and clearing away to rebuilding, they do it all.
They were looking for an updated website that would increase awareness, provide information, list officers, acknowledge contributors, display the great work they do and supply an online membership form.
Since they were in Louisiana and we were here, we never had an opportunity to meet face to face, so we had to rely on many email and telephone conversations. Once we gathered all of their information, we discussed the best way to lay it all out on the website pages.
We presented them with a website that provided professional, organized ways to disseminate information and to display the wonderful work they have been doing for the people of New Orleans. |
